Rangers top Angels, push lead back to 9 (AP)
Rich Harden was itching to get off the disabled list and back to what he does best. In his first game back for the Texas Rangers, he matched up against former Oakland teammate Dan Haren. Harden won the duel, pitching seven solid innings Saturday night in a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. “It feels good to get back out there on the mound,” Harden said.
Video shows Kings’ Evans driving 120 mph (AP)
The basketball court isn’t the only place where Sacramento Kings player Tyreke Evans apparently likes to move fast. A video released by the California Highway Patrol shows Evans speeding past vehicles on Interstate 80 in his purple Mercedes. CHP officers say he was driving 120 to 130 miles per hour.
Mauer has cortisone shot, out 2 games (AP)
Joe Mauer is expected to miss two games after receiving a cortisone shot in his right shoulder following the Minnesota Twins’ 4-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night. The reigning American League MVP, Mauer has been dealing with tendinitis since he took a foul tip off the shoulder earlier in July.
